Plain-English glossary

No jargon, promise.

Every technical-sounding word you might bump into in Glated — explained like a friend would, not like a manual. You never need to know the plumbing to use the product.

Flow & automation

Webhook

A way for Glated to automatically ping another app the moment something happens — like telling Zapier or your CRM “hey, someone just subscribed.”

In Glated: In a Flow, a “webhook” step sends the subscriber’s info to a URL you paste from another tool. You don’t write any code — you copy the link that tool gives you and paste it in.

Trigger

The “when this happens…” part of an automation. The event that kicks a Flow off.

In Glated: Glated triggers: someone subscribes (lead captured), someone clicks a link, or someone views your page.

Flow / Funnel / Workflow

A set of automatic steps that run after a trigger — usually emails sent over time. A “funnel” is just a flow aimed at turning visitors into customers.

In Glated: You describe it in plain English (“welcome them, wait 2 days, send my best tips”) and Glated builds the steps for you.

Subscriber / Lead

Someone who gave you their email. A “lead” is a potential customer; a “subscriber” is on your list. Same person, different hat.

In Glated: Every email captured on your bio page lands in your Leads list and can trigger a Flow.

Email & sending

Welcome email

The first email a new subscriber gets automatically, right after they join.

In Glated: Set one up once in Flow; it sends itself to every new subscriber forever.

Deliverability

Whether your emails actually reach the inbox instead of the spam folder. It’s a reputation thing, built up over time.

In Glated: Glated handles this for you — emails send from our verified, hardened sending setup. You don’t configure anything.

Spam vs Promotions

“Promotions” is a normal inbox tab Gmail uses for marketing-style mail — totally fine. “Spam” is the junk folder. New senders sometimes start in Spam until they earn trust.

In Glated: As Glated sends more real mail over time, placement improves automatically across every creator.

Unsubscribe link

A one-click way for a recipient to stop getting your emails. Required by law and by Gmail/Yahoo.

In Glated: Added to every email automatically. Anyone who unsubscribes is skipped on future sends — you don’t manage a list by hand.

Sender domain (SPF / DKIM / DMARC)

The behind-the-scenes “ID papers” that prove an email really came from who it says. Mailbox providers check these to decide spam vs inbox.

In Glated: Set up once by Glated for the whole platform. You never touch DNS records or these acronyms.

Analytics & tracking

Tracking pixel

A tiny invisible snippet that tells an analytics or ads platform “someone visited this page.” Lets you measure traffic and re-target ads.

In Glated: Paste your pixel ID in one field — Glated wires up the events. No JavaScript to copy.

GA4 (Google Analytics 4)

Google’s free website-analytics tool. Shows you visits, where people came from, what they did.

In Glated: Add your Measurement ID (looks like G-XXXXXXX) in page Settings → Tracking pixels.

Meta Pixel / TikTok Pixel

The same idea as GA4, but for Facebook/Instagram ads (Meta) and TikTok ads. Lets those platforms measure and optimize your ads.

In Glated: One field each in page Settings. Useful only if you run ads on those platforms.

Referrer

Where a visitor came from before landing on your page — e.g. Instagram, a Google search, a newsletter.

In Glated: Shown in your Analytics so you know which channel drives the most clicks.

Building blocks

Theme

The look of your page — colors, font, button style, background.

In Glated: Pick a preset, tweak colors, or describe a vibe and let AI design one.

QR code

That square barcode people scan with a phone camera to open a link. Great for posters, packaging, business cards.

In Glated: Generate a branded, high-res one for any link — download as PNG.

Tip jar

A button that lets fans send you a small payment or tip.

In Glated: Add a Tip jar block linking to your payment page.

Product card

A block that shows something you’re selling — image, price, buy button — right on your bio page.

In Glated: Add a Product block with a title, price, and link to checkout.
